Redondo Beach, CA – Trudi and Dion’s American East Indian Wedding
This video production was really a fun one. The Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach, California is right next to the ocean. Just outside the hotel, there is a wharf where many sailboats are docked. Also, from outside the hotel you could see the pier along with the other hotel buildings in the cove.
The day started off with a videographer following the bride as she prepared for the ceremony while the other videographer patiently waited for the groom to arrive at the venue. After finishing up her makeup and hair, Trudi put on her magnificent white sequence wedding dress. Dion arrived wearing his stylish white tuxedo and silver tie. When we mic’d up Dion right before the ceremony started, we were able to record him in a candid and endearing moment. He basically was telling his groomsman how he was so nervous about saying his vows. But he thought once he got through his vows, it would be all downhill. Well, both his and Trudi’s vows ended up being some of the most heartfelt and eloquent vows in our videography history.
Later that night, the party got rockin’. Indian weddings seem to always be the festive. With Indian popular music blasting through the night, the dance floor was never found to be empty. There was always something to capture. This actually can be a videographer’s fear because during that time of the night you start running low on tape. But we usually don’t video tape all of the dancing. We only record something that appears to be interesting. The problem was that there was always something interesting. It was as if every uncle or aunt or cousin had gotten their spotlight on the dance floor. That was fun!
La Canada Flintridge, Pasadena – Angelika and Nathan’s German Wedding
A beautiful outdoor wedding took place for this lovely couple. Surrounded by so many flowers, trees, and plants, it provided a picturesque background for this video production. The Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge (just a couple of miles west of Pasadena), not only gives a videographer great scenery to get great shots, there is a certain mood that the natural greenery gives.
Along with Angelika wearing a stunning princess dress, the gardens made it feel like we were witnessing a wedding that was something out of Braveheart. After the ceremony we went with them and their photographer to capture their romantics. There were so many great spots! There was a dirt road surrounded with grass. There was a wooden bench underneath trees. There was a rose garden. There was a pond. There was a bridge. There was so many areas to shot at that we really could have just spent the whole day going from location to location. But of course we would have to eventually return to the party.
Los Angeles, CA – Ben and Emily’s Wedding Video Production
Although none of our videographers were allowed inside the Los Angeles Temple during their wedding ceremony, we were fortunate enough to get great footage of Ben and Emily together with their family and friends outside the temple. The Mormon religion holds this ceremony so sacred that no photographer or videographer were allowed to take any pictures of video. Totally understandable!
But the venue has a beautiful 200 foot high structure right next to Santa Monica Blvd in Westwood. Lavish green grass surround the building along with various types of trees and bushes. There is also a pool of water and a fountain which allowed us to great such beautiful shots of the couple.
After completing their post ceremony pictures, we headed out to a mansion in Pasadena. They basically converted the backyard into an attractive reception area. From the layout of the buffet table, to the table and chairs and dance floor, it felt like we no longer were in the backyard of someone’s gorgeous home, but instead felt like we were at a popular wedding venue.
